Yes Blackmen Read Books

Here are a few books I read this month
The Ghost Brigades

This was the most entertaining book I read this month! The Ghost Brigades is a sequel to ‘Old Mans War’. Not a direct sequel, but takes place within the same universe. TGB is a Military Sci Fi book. Even if you don’t like Sci-Fi you can enjoy this. Highly recommended!
Spin

I was walking thru Barnes and Noble and saw Spin on the shelf and picked it up on a whim, lucky me. Here is the book description:
One night in October when he was ten years old, Tyler Dupree stood in his back yard and watched the stars go out. They all flared into brilliance at once, then disappeared, replaced by a flat, empty black barrier. He and his best friends, Jason and Diane Lawton, had seen what became known as the Big Blackout. It would shape their lives.
The effect is worldwide. The sun is now a featureless disk–a heat source, rather than an astronomical object. The moon is gone, but tides remain. Not only have the world’s artificial satellites fallen out of orbit, their recovered remains are pitted and aged, as though they’d been in space far longer than their known lifespans. As Tyler, Jason, and Diane grow up, a space probe reveals a bizarre truth: The barrier is artificial, generated by huge alien artifacts. Time is passing faster outside the barrier than inside–more than a hundred million years per year on Earth. At this rate, the death throes of the sun are only about forty years in our future.
There are a lot of things in this book, coming of age, father-son conflict, and religious fanaticism.
Nightlife

I just started this one. This is a horror fantasy story, which I don’t normally read at all. It’s told in the 1st person narrative which I like and the 1st chapter got me interested so, I’m giving it a shot.
Book Description
In New York, there’s a troll under the Brooklyn Bridge, a boggle in Central Park, and a beautiful vampire in a penthouse on the Upper East Side. Of course, most humans are oblivious to this, but Cal Leandros is only half-human. His father’s dark lineage is the stuff of nightmares-and he and his entire otherworldly race are after Cal.
He and his half-brother Niko have managed to stay a step ahead for three years, but now Cal’s dad has found them again. And Cal is about to learn why they want him, why they’ve always wanted him.
Illustrator CS for Windows and Macintosh : Visual QuickStart Guide
Adobe Encore DVD In the Studio

These next two books I read/reference for two projects I’m working on this month. Clients ask me all the time how I learned how to use all these programs. I tell them I went to the university of B&N, Barnes & Noble, and got my masters from Borders. Haha On the real, Barnes & Nobles is the spot. You can just grab a gang of books, bring your laptop and study your ass off. You don’t have to buy anything. You can spend $2.00 and buy a tea, kick back and read. Now to me Barnes & Noble = money. I can go there and spend $25.00 on a book that will let me earn $85.00 and hour. It’s a wrap! So yeah I’m up in that bad boy once a week.
I authored a DVD about Neurosciences for a local hospital.
I’m currently designing a Native American calendar for 2007 and I’m using Illustrator CS2.
