Hey! I was turned on to you guys through the Prince podcast. I just wanted to say: Keep doing what you’re doing! It’s great to hear intelligent commentary on current events.
For the longest time, I resisted clicking on the Young Jeezy/Monie Love links on various sites that I visit on the ‘net. I realize now that was good thinking. Just listening to the exchange left me heated and shaking my head. I will be glad when this current form of hip hop is dead. Maybe from the ashes, we can pick ourselves up and learn from mistakes. Unfortunately, as you all were saying, mainstream Hip Hop is controlled by folks who have no love for the music, just the money. Until control is wrested from them, we will be stuck with the “Chicken Noodle Soups” and “Young Jeezy’s” as a representation to the world of what Hip Hop is.
